Custom Map Paintings

A special, personalized gift for weddings, anniversaries, new baby or any occasion! I’ll create an original map painting designed just for you, highlighting a favorite location with any imagery of your choice. This is a mixed media piece involving my original painting overtop of a map.

THE MAP
I will source the map, I just need you to let me know the exact location on the map you desire, including any special spots you do not want painted over. Before I start, I will email you a sample map to make sure it's just the right spot and that you like it. I use only one map per painting and international locations may take me a little longer to source, but I'll be in touch if I think there will be a delay.

THE DESIGN
Tell me what design style you like. Check out the images in my paintings, prints and card sections and let me know the names of some you are drawn too. I like to work from designs I currently do, but if you have a specific design or image in mind send me a message and we can chat about it. To see examples of some of my past commissions click here.

AFTER YOU ORDER
Once you place your order I will email you again to go over the details to make sure I am creating a painting you are going to love. The painting will then take me 4-6 weeks to complete with a proof emailed to you once I'm finished. Your painting will be framed on a simple wood box frame that I make (see photos) and will be ready to hang. The painting is titled from a location on the map, signed and dated. The painting ships USPS Priority Mail or UPS and can be gift wrapped for no extra fee.

GUARANTEE
If for whatever reason you are not happy with the painting then I will adjust as needed, but I think you are going to really love it! After any adjustments, review and purchase, all sales are final.

THINGS TO NOTE
Please note the painting will be textured - it is on purpose and not a wrinkle in the map. I create this look by layering over the map a thick clear acrylic with a painters knife to give the painting depth and to seal in the map. Then that layer is coated with a layer of oil paint to soften up the map in the background but still make it somewhat readable. After that layer is dry I am ready to paint the design in ink and oil paint. I love the way the layers build up and hope you do too.
