Original mixed media map painting. The name 'Fairfield' is from a location on the map layered under this painting. Has a thick, waxy texture. Size is 9" x 15".  Mounted on a boxy, handmade wood frame. 

The map painting series began eleven years ago with my love for old maps.  The paintings begin with a map and are covered with acrylic medium, oil paint and ink on wood panels.  Because of the layers, each painting takes between a week and two weeks to complete. Each one is named after a location on the map and framed with handmade and unfinished poplar wood frames.  They are ready to hang and enjoy!
